What an intense finale that was. Two of the biggest ESports teams in the world go head to head in the final of the IEM. Fnatic has come out victorious and I was tense as f**k watching it.
I tend to watch ESports and follow Ninjas in Pyjamas who ended up getting knocked out by Team Liquid the other day after a 2-1 defeat. After watching my team go out I still had to watch how tensely close the matches that were to come. IEM definitely lived up to it’s reputation as one of the best ESL of the year and every single match showed this right to the bitter end.
The finale began with a best of five final. Not your typical lead up with a best of three. Now although Fnatic is one of the best teams in the world right now they went into the final as underdogs. The first round began on Cache which FaZe Clan took the first round 16-5. Here on out was where Fnatic showed them what they were made of. The second round on Inferno was pretty much FaZe shutting down Fnatic but then, Fnatic took it in the end. Out of all luck they managed to clutch the second round. It was extremely tense, FaZe was fighting back, Fnatic was fighting back, at this point I hadn’t a clue who was going to come out victorious. Could see both teams wanted it.
Scoring as follows:
FaZe Clan: 16, 20, 7, 16, 17
Fnatic: 5, 22, 16, 11, 19
You seen some extremely heroic efforts from both sides. First round on Clutch, NiKo and GuardiaN obliterated Fnatic. You seen GuardiaN pull of a 1v5 clutch to try and keep FaZe in the game. On Fnatic’s side you seen some special gameplay from flusha to pull back Fnatic in the second game. lekr0 showing us some incredible displays. It was just carnage everywhere.
I have to give it out to both teams here for giving us audience a incredible ending to the IEM’s and hats off to Fnatic for being underdogs and going on to boss it.
